Top 5 reasons why breastfeeding rocks (that have nothing to do with health)

I love that breastfeeding comes with tons of health-related perks, but there so many other awesome reasons why breastfeeding rocks. Here’s my own personal top 5 list – leave us a comment and add your own reasons to this list!

  1. Save money. Say no more!
  2. Cuddles – Ah these can be so hard to come by with older babies and toddlers. Sigh…
  3. An easy “out” of any situation – stressful dinner with extended family? Just say your baby wants to nurse in a quiet room. Mommy fitness class requiring an awkward position for inflexible-you? Oh look at that, baby needs to nurse.
  4. Time to relax. Breastfeeding was my only guaranteed “down” time as a new mom and even as a mom of a busy toddler. There’s no folding the laundry or cleaning the kitchen, woohoo! (Shhh don’t tell me I can nurse with a carrier – this is my sacred do-nothing-but-relax time!)
  5. Convenience – as long as you’re there, you’ve got the goods! I can proudly say my breasts are the only thing I’ve NOT forgotten to pack. But diapers, wipes, extra clothes, my wallet? I’m constantly forgetting something…
